If you thought Tremors was just a movie about giant worms that starred Kevin Bacon, you’d be wrong. It’s basically a documentary depicting the horror that is the Bobbit worm, except Bobbit worms only prey in the ocean – for now – while the Grabbed (giant worm) from Tremors spends its time trying to win an extended game of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.
Besides burying itself in the sand and terrorizing anything that comes within its vicinity, the Bobbit worm can also grow up to 10 feet long. Luckily they live on the ocean floor right? Wrong. It has been known to show up in fishtanks after they hitch a ride on piece coral that was put in the tank. If that’s not ground for concern, I don’t know what is.
