We’re sure we could give some scientific reason as to why someone created a jetpack – but who needs that? – it’s a jetpack!
Chief designer of the jetpack, Nelson Tyler, pretty much sums it up perfectly when he describes his 10-year-old self watching Buck Rodgers coming off his spaceship, grabbing his jetpack and flying off as his inspiration to build a real one.
Tyler made his and about 100 million other little boys dreams come true when he created this amazing jetpack.
David Mayman pilots the turbine engine (it’s powered the same way a jet plane is) powered jetpack and can reach speeds of up to 60mph. With the help of two levers, one being the throttle and one controlling direction, Mayman is able to pilot the jetpack in any direction he chooses.
