Watch Man Get Stalked By Cougar For Over An Hour

What would you do if you were in the middle of the woods with no gun or any kind of protection and a massive cougar started stalking you?

Adam Bartsch, of British Columbia, recently encountered a 140-pound mountain lion while he was setting up trail cameras north of the Campbell River on Vancouver Island.

“So I just found a shed antler, and there’s a monster, monster tom at 20 meters [65 feet] looking at me. A monster tom cougar. And no, I don’t have a gun. I have nothing. And he is huge,” Bartsch can be heard saying in the video.

The entire ordeal went on for over an hour. Bartsch even managed to scare the cougar off a few times, but it always returned — it was actually watching him behind a tree the entire time.

After the tense encounter, the cougar did eventually run off and let Bartsch carry on with his setup.

“Here on Vancouver Island, and in particular the North Island, we have some of the highest cougar densities in North America, so I stress that education is key,” North Island General Duty Officer Steve Petrovcic said.

Because of the cougar population size, it’s even more important to keep an eye on your surroundings and keep your distance from wildlife.
