Pictures of a man with an insanely massive bullfrog have been making the rounds lately after they went viral last week. In the post, a man is seen holding what appears to be the largest bullfrog that has ever existed by a long shot.
Markcuz Rangel is the man holding the frog in the picture, in which he claims he wanted to share photos of the 13-pound monster frog he caught in a fishing pond in Batesville, Texas. The pictures themselves are 100% real, although distorted camera perspective makes the frog appear much larger than it is.
“It’s not as big as it appears,” Steve Lightfoot told the Houston Chronicle. “[It’s an] optical illusion created by extending frog toward the camera — similar to what you see with fishermen holding up fish to make them appear larger. Still a big bullfrog, though.”
So…basically what he’s saying is that this guy used the equivalent of “fish fingers” for frogs.
Camera trick or not, that frog is absolutely huge and is probably at least possible of swallowing a small child whole.
