After noticing a drowning deer, a dog in Long Island, New York jumped in after the animal to bring it back to shore.
“Storm just plunged into the water and started swimming out to the fawn, grabbed it by the neck, and started swimming to shore,” the dog’s owner, Mark Freeley, said.
Once Storm got the deer to safety, and started nudging it. This actually ended up frightening the deer to the point that it ran back into the water and needed to be rescued a second time.
They eventually managed to get the deer back a second time and carried it to the rescue’s van. While checking the fawn, they discovered it was covered in ticks and had an injury to its eye.
