VIDEO: Bush Plane Nearly Stops in Midair as Pilot Lands It like a Helicopter

Wind can make plane landings very interesting. It turns out they don’t even need to be hurricane force winds to create some potentially serious issues.

For instance, take Jon bush’s recent bizarre landing in his SQ12. He was coming in for a landing in Alaska recently against 20mph winds with gusts at 25mph and his plane nearly looks like its suspended in midair. By the time he actually makes contact with the ground, he doesn’t even roll forward. He just kind of sticks the landing like a helicopter.

“Wow, I never thought my video was going to rack up this much attention,” says Bush. “I flew this SQ12 up in Alaska on the Knik River. Winds were blowing 20mph/ gusts 25.”
