This pleasure cruise ended in anything but. After a fire broke out in the engine room on a white pleasure boat on the River Thames with 142 passengers and nine crew members, it didn’t seem like things could get much worse – until they did.

The double decker boat was traveling down the river in Southwark, London, near Canary Wharf when the fire erupted.
The flames caused the engines to fail, which resulted in the ship veering into the pier at speed as smoke billowed out of it.
Dan Hine captured the footage of the ship as it careened towards the pier.
While speaking to the Evening Standard, Dan told them it looked pretty serious when he saw smoke coming from the back of the boat.
“It looked like it was going to park up next to the pier but you could see the boat overshot it and it became perpendicular with the wall,” he continued.
“Looking at the top deck the passengers looked quite relaxed but you could see from the crew’s faces that this was a bad situation.”
“Then the ferry hit the wall with quite an impact and after that people started scrambling around and the sirens went off. There was quite a lot of black smoke at this point.”
“You could hear babies were crying and there was an obvious look of disbelief on people’s faces when it dawned on them what had happened.”
Firefighters arrived on scene but the fire had been extinguished before they arrived.
Of the 151 people on board, there were no reported injuries.
