Squirrels have long been a thorn in the side of anyone who owns a bird feeder. As soon as there’s bird feed in the feeder, the squirrels come out and take over. Fortunately, that’s not the case anymore.
It turns out the answer has been in a simple toy for the last 70 years – a slinky. It turns out a slinky attached to the top of the pole of the feeder acts like an elevator that only goes down. No matter what the squirrel does, it’ll always be stuck in an endless loop of failure.
