Researchers off the California coast made a discovery last week that looks like it belongs in a toy store more than on the ocean floor. The bizarre looking ‘google-eyed’ squid isn’t you typical cephalopod. This thing could beat Chuck Norris in a stare-down without breaking a sweat.
It’s actually a stubby squid and was discovered at a depth of nearly 3,000 feet. It looks like a mix between a squid and an octopus, but it’s closer to a cuttlefish than anything. This one in-particular broke the mold for stubby squid, looking more like it belongs with the Looney Tunes than in the depths of the ocean.
