Hurricane Irma displays just how powerful a force of nature it is in this incredible footage. Taken in Long Island, Bahamas, the video shows a vast expanse of ocean bed with no ocean in sight. The winds from Irma have been so strong and so constant that they have pushed the see back as far as the eye can see.
This phenomenon is basically a reverse storm surge. It has even affected the Florida coast in a similar fashion as Irma moved closer to the state.
