Justin Dymond and Zac Zachry just caught a whopping 12-foot-8-inch alligator from the Withlacoochee River in Yankeetown, Florida. Not only did they harvest the monster on rod and reel, they GoPro’d the conclusion of the hunt!
We spoke with Justin, about the hunt, and here’s what he had to say: “We followed his bubble trail and snagged him with a fishing rod. We had him on the fishing rod for an hour and didn’t realize how big he was until we got him with the harpoon and got him in the boat. He measured 12′ 8″. The biggest we ever got before him was 12’4″. I had the hide tanned and had a taxidermist make a quarter mount of his head and shoulders. We sold the meat to local restaurants.”
