Rescuers feared the worst after 4-year-old Karina Chikitova went missing in the Siberian forest. The massive forest is home to many different wild animals and is easy to get lost in.
Hundreds of people joined together to help find Karina, but their efforts were in vain – or so they thought. After searching for over a week, everyone assumed she was dead. Luckily for Karina, she had a trusty companion in her dog Kyrachaan, who never left her side.

Kyrachaan helped keep Karina warm during the cold nights and even helped scare off any would be threats. The pair were able to survive on water and berries they discovered while out in the forest.
One day rescuers had a surprise visitor when Kyrachaan popped up out of the forest from nowhere. The dog tried pointing them in the direction of Karina, which caused the search team to increase their efforts in finding the lost girl.
She was discovered roughly four miles from the village in a tall patch of grass. She was very weak and scared, but she was amazingly okay, save for a few small scratches and some bug bites.
With all the excitement of finding Karina, there was only one question she had, and it was for her dog. “Why did you leave me?,” she asked when Kyrachaan came back. This is an incredible story showing the complete loyalty a dog will give to their owner, no matter what.
