A Mormon pastor from Zimbabwe got eaten by crocodiles after attempting to walk on water in a nearby river. The pastor had claimed to his congregation that he would walk on water like Jesus after fasting and praying. That’s a pretty terrifying scenario to find yourself in the middle of. Luckily for the supposed pastor and his congregation, none of that actually happened, but the most of the internet really thought I did.
The story was so widely believed that it was picked up by several popular news sites. Some have since taken the story down. The original source for the story was cite as the Zimbabwe Herald. Unfortunately, it turns out the Zimbabwe Herald doesn’t have a story that has anything to do with a pastor getting brutally killed by crocodiles while attempting a miracle.
While the story definitely grabs attention in its description, it has about as much of a leg to stand on as the fake pastor who got swallowed whole.
