Sometimes the last few feet of bringing in a massive fish are the hardest. Stephen and Christen Rampersad found that out the hard way while celebrating a milestone birthday off Folrida’s east coast.
Stephen, a firefighter for the City of Milton Fire Department, had hooked and nearly reeled in a goliath grouper. While attempting to bring it in, the massive fish – estimated to be 400 pounds – yanks Stephen off his feet and over the boats railing.
Rampersad didn’t let a surprise overboarding slow him down. Before letting the protected fish go, he manages to pose for a picture with rod in hand.
