Famous, Wild Mountain Lion a Suspect in LA Zoo’s Oldest Koala Death

P-22, the world’s most famous mountain lion, is believed to have killed a koala at the Los Angeles Zoo.

Officials say Killarney the koala was 14 years old at the time of her death and she first arrived at the L.A. Zoo in 2010. He was seen in a couple of locations, certainly would be capable of doing it,” L.A. Zoo director John Lewis told ABC7.com regarding P-22.

“We’ve looked at the GPS evidence, and of course talked to the zoo and looked at the enclosure, and it’s really inconclusive,” said Kate Kuykendall with the National Park Service. “He was in the area, but our GPS points are separated by two hours, so we can’t say for sure.”.

And, in case you’re not familiar with the world’s most famous mountain lion, here’s how he became famous. Yes, that’s the Hollywood sign in the background, and no, that photo has not been edited.
