Coyotes typically go after smaller prey like fawns and not full grown deer. While they have the capability of downing an adult deer, they typically look for easier opportunities when they hunt.
These two coyotes (only one was captured on video) must’ve felt particularly confident when they went after an adult deer. Unfortunately for them, there were some hidden hunters nearby who shot them both down in their tracks.
