Chris Pratt may be the hottest actor in all of Hollywood right now, but did you know he’s also an avid outdoorsman? In a 2012 interview with Outdoor Life, Pratt said, “Some people fast, some people go on a cruise or visit a day spa. I get out in the woods with a rifle or a bow. That’s my release.”
Below is an interview – Chris Pratt On Hunting – that features the emotions Pratt experiences during a hunt, and after the kill.
Pratt was once homeless, but that didn’t stop him from fishing. Pratt told The Independent, “It’s a pretty awesome place to be homeless. We just drank and smoked weed and worked minimal hours, just enough to cover gas, food, and fishing supplies.” Hunting, check. Fishing, check. Sharing his harvest, check.
Recently, TMZ ‘s camera guy caught Chris Pratt coming back from his hunting trip and asked him about what he thought about hunting for his own meat? Chris not only answers but he also shares some of his hunted antelope meat with our camera guy in “Chris Pratt : Try Some of My Antelope Meat”.
Chris also had an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where they played Word Sneak, and he discussed hunting and fishing, and his love for eating “jelly fish”. If that seems strange, watch the video below, and it’ll all make sense!
Outdoor Life ran a fantastic Q&A : Chris Pratt Talks Hunting, Tanning, and Squirrels. Part of the interview is below.
OL: Hollywood isn’t exactly known for its outdoorsmen. Is it ever strange to be into hunting, yet involved in an industry that’s so non-outdoorsy?
CP: It’s true that there aren’t a ton of hunters in Hollywood. That being said, the people I’ve talked to about it are actually fascinated with the subject. I think I’ve changed a few minds regarding the sport. It’s pretty incredible how little people actually know about hunting. Most people don’t even realize there are seasons or tags. They don’t understand the regulations or conservation benefits of hunting. I get a lot of, “Well as long as you eat the meat, I don’t care.” I have to be honest with them though. My passion for hunting is not simply the result of a need to feed myself. There’s grocery stores for that! I’m not eating ground hog or coyote! Sometimes people don’t understand and I don’t waste my breath trying to explain it. Either you get it or you don’t. But for the most part people aren’t judgmental about it. We just disagree and move on.

With hit movies (Guardians of the Galaxy, Zero Dark Thirty, Moneyball, Jurassic Park), a hit TV show (Parks and Recreation), and a superstar wife (Anna Faris), Chris Pratt is living the life.
