This sounds a little far-fetched at first, but this artist has been creating some incredible work by simple using dirt and some serious patience – seriously. What starts out as dirt ends up as a beautiful sphere with an incredible shine and texture that would make people assume you’re a liar if you told them what it is.
The process is called Hikaru Dorodango, literally translating to “shiny dumpling” and involves taking handfuls of mud that are then shaped and dried multiple times before finally being polished to create the finished product.
We don’t know about you, but we’d rather spend our money on this than on that whole “rock in a leather pouch” thing.
