Renowned Aussie angler and photographer Al McGlashan is fishing mad. Spending almost 200 days a year he chases and films everything from giant marlin to backcountry bass and sharks, lots of sharks. His brand new TV series Fishn’ With Mates is factual style documentary that follows his crazy exploits both above and below the surface as he fish’s and photographs his way around the world.
Traveling wildest spots in search of the biggest fish Al teams up with local gun anglers and celebrities for some hilarious fishing antics. Monster Florida snook, heavyweight amberjacks in the Gulf of Mexico and tarpon in the Everglades just to name a few. Then there is the seriously remote Ascension Island in the South Atlantic where Al encounters some of the world’s biggest yellowfin tuna. Literally unfished the action is out of this world, but Al not content just to catching them so despite the sharks dives in for a once in a lifetime experience. The footage is out of this world!
In Australia its barramundi fishing in choppers in the remote far north as well as taking on American fishing TV host Carter Andrews for the championship of international fishing hosts on the picturesque Sydney Harbour. From suburbia it’s straight into the wilds of Papua New Guinea to chase the toughest fish in freshwater, the infamous black bass. Then there is the pirate ship adventure to the remote uninhabited islands of the Indonesia Archipelago chasing tales of huge GTs and mega dogtooth tuna. They find the fish but have to resort to yoga to catch them!
