Dylan Poche, an 18-year-old college angler at Northwestern State University, was fatally stabbed at a Louisiana boat ramp Saturday, January 30th.
According to KALB: Around 11:43 p.m. N.P.S.O responded to multiple 911 calls that reported a stabbing at the Sibley Lake boat launch in the 900 block of La. Hwy. 504 in the Oak Grove community near Natchitoches.
Deputies discovered 18-year-old Dylan Poche of Natchez on the ground suffering a stab wound to the upper body. Poche was sent to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Dylan was nephew of professional bass fisherman Keith Poche, who posted this on his Facebook Fan Page:
“Last night our family suffered a terrible tragedy. We lost my nephew Dylan Poche to a senseless act of violence. He was a good kid, a great big brother and an awesome fisherman that fished for Northwestern State University with a bright future. He is truly going to be missed by so many. Please keep our family in your prayers during this time.”
A suspect is in custody, according to a release.
