It’s not every day you walk outside to discover a fight to the death between two large snakes outside your home. That’s exactly the situation that Liz Williams discovered outside her home in Victoria, Australia, when she spotted an eastern brown snake and a tiger snake in a brutal fight.
The brown snake quickly came out on top and defeated the tiger snake. Once victorious, it proceeded to swallow the tiger snake whole in terrifying fashion.
“It was amazing, I didn’t even know they would fight like that, let alone eat one another,” Williams said.
“My niece posted some video of the event and I learned there was a real contrast in people’s reactions — from fascination to fear.”
“Half the people who saw our post said they would not be visiting us again.”
Craig Bergman, a snake catcher, came to retrieve the brown snake from Williams. Bergman said the brown snake eventually regurgitated the defeated tiger snake after eating way more than it could handle.
