When it’s time to put some salmon away, Kodiak bears don’t hold anything back.
The largest subspecies of the brown bear or grizzly bear, they can weight up to 1,500 pounds. Being that big requires a lot of fuel, so when it comes time to eat their favorite food, they don’t exactly try to moderate.
Although they may not always be successful when hunting for salmon, they’re able to put down over one-hundred pounds on a good day.
Remind us to never challenge a bear to an eating competition!
