Devon DellaCava and his father spotted and videoed a great white shark over the weekend in Volusia County — the large shark came within inches of their boat! Devon and his father are experienced boaters and fisherman, and Devon has been “fishing as long as he can remember.”
Gino, Devon’s dad, shot the video of what he believes is a 14 foot, 2,000 pound great white, while Devon and his friends looked on in awe of the massive creature.
We were able to talk with Devon about the experience, and here’s what he had to say, “We were about 25 miles out of ponce inlet, and we were bottom fishing for black sea bass and vermillion snapper. The largest shark I’ve seen before this one was about a 7-8 foot hammerhead.”
