It’s the year of the monster buck in Iowa. Check out the video and story of this 258 and 7/8-inch buck that was taken on October 12th with a muzzleloader. Joe Franz harvested the deer, and Derek Wilkerson filmed the entire hunt.
“We would like everyone to know that Trophy Pursuit has filmed the harvest of what we think could be the largest wild, 100% fair chase whitetail to ever be captured on professional video! The footage and story is nothing short of amazing and we can’t wait to share it with you and the world!” announced the Trophy Pursuit website.
As of this date, there has been no evidence of a larger whitetail being taken on camera.
“Total mass was 36 6/8 on the right side and 27 5/8 on the left side for a total of 64 3/8. Congrats again to the hunter and the TP crew,” Boone and Crockett Club scorer Glen Salow wrote on Facebook.
