‘Future Weapons’ Host and Former Navy SEAL Richard ‘Mack’ Machowicz Passes Away After Cancer Battle

Richard “Mack” Machowicz was a true living example of an American hero. The former US Navy SEAL and “Future Weapons” host on Discovery Channel, died at the age of 51 after a long battle with brain cancer.

Mack spent 10 years serving as a Navy SEAL before his career in television began. Though he’s best known for “Future Weapons,” he hosted Spike TV’s “Deadliest Warrior” as well as other shows on the History and the Military Channel. Machowicz was even an accomplished martial artist and the author of a best-selling book. There was truly nothing he couldn’t do that he didn’t set his mind to.

Mack was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer in 2015, according to his company NDCQ (Not Dead, Can’t Quit) Facebook page.

“His private messages and phone conversations have remained strong and inspiring throughout,” his friend, Navy SEAL Craig Sawyer, said on Facebook. “An amazing man in so many ways… His strength of character and integrity were outstanding.”

He will be greatly missed.

Here’s Mack in what’s probably one of his most memorable videos, as he tests an AA-12 Full-auto Shotgun:
