Why work harder when you can work smarter? This whale shark figured it’d just eat straight from the largest food source it could find instead of spending time swimming around and hunting for fish.

Fishers have actually noticed that whale sharks have been congregating near their fishing platforms in Indonesia’s Cendrawasih Bay. They’re targeting the small silverside baitfish the fishermen catch. Once the nets are full, the whale sharks actually suck the fish out right through the holes in the net.

This brings potential risk to the whale sharks if they were to swallow the actual net. However, the fishermen are working to figure out a modification to the nets that would prevent the sharks from continuing their all you can eat buffet.
