If you’ve ever swatted at a housefly (who hasn’t?) then you’ve also gloriously missed hitting it by a mile. It turns out there’s a very good reason why big misses like that happen when going after those pesky flying nuisances.

House flies perceive time at a much faster rate than we do – right at four times faster to be exact. That means no matter how fast we move it appears we’re moving much slower to the fly than we think we are.
