If there’s one thing that shows how quickly nature can pull a 180, it’s a volcano.

The Krakatau volcano is a prime example of just that in this incredible footage of an eruption from October 17, 2018.

One moment, the volcano appears to be still and peaceful. That changes in an instant as an absolutely massive eruption rips the mountain open, sending debris thousands of feet into the air.

What’s even crazier is the team that captured the footage while on an expedition to the volcano. Even after the eruption, they don’t seem to be worried that they’re uncomfortably close to an exploding mountain.

We don’t know about you, but we would’ve been throttling up and putting some distance between us and Krakatau!
