Exactly how did Vince Lombardi Trophy wind up hitting a deer you may be wondering? Technically it was the car carrying the Super Bowl trophy that hit a deer while driving in Maine during transport in an effort to allow fans to see it.

A Patriots employee was transporting the trophy from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine, when the vehicle struck a deer in Fairfield.

Neither the employee or the trophy were hurt or damaged.

State trooper Tyler Maloon, who reported to the scene, couldn’t believe the odds of the trophy being involved in a crash and him bing the responding officer. Luckily for him, he even managed to get a sweet photo op with the trophy.
