Rescue crews in Crystal River worked to save six manatees after they were trapped in a pond for more than a week.

The manatees were able to enter the pond after rising waters from Hurricane Hermine enabled them to enter the 200 yard long by 50 yard wide pond. FWC rescue workers were able to free the manatees, including a mother that weighed over 1,400 pounds.
