A Great White Shark has been captured and killed off the West Australian coast after allegedly attacking a surfer. A Great White Shark has been captured and killed off the West Australian coast on Thursday (June 2) after allegedly attacking a surfer on Tuesday (May 31) and biting off one of his legs.

The shark was caught on drum lines by the Department of Fisheries and later died on the lines, before being dumped out to sea, local media reported.

Ben Gerring, 29, a fly-in-fly-out heavy machinery operator, was surfing at Falcon Bay Beach in Mandurah when the attack occurred, local media reported.
