Amazing Dress Covered Completely In Salt Crystals Pulled From Sea

There’s a new dress phenomenon here to stump you. No, it has nothing to do with whether a dress is white and gold or blue and black (it was blue and black). It instead has to do with, what happens when a black dress is plunged into the depths of the Dead Sea? Something incredibly mind boggling.

The dress actually slowly takes on more and more salt crystals the longer it’s submerged, turning the black dress into one that looks to be made of pure white crystal or ice.

The dress didn’t find ts way into the Dead Sea by accident, Israeli artist Sigalit Landau submerged the dress and photographed it over the span of three months in 2014. It’s for her photography series titles “Salt Bride,” currently on display in London at Marlborough Contemporary.

“It looks like snow, like sugar, like death’s embrace,” Landau said of the salt deposits in a statement.

It certainly looks interesting, that’s for sure.

Landau also submerged a bridesmaid dress, dubbing it “Small Salt Bride.”
