We’re not sure if this turtle with a bright green mohawk is trying to bring back punk rock to the masses or not, but it’s definitely grabbing everyone’s attention.

The Mary River turtle’s punk-like green mohawk might seem like a rebellious fashion choice, but that’s just green algae.

It’s an oddly fascinating creature to look at, but it’s more importantly been added to a list of the world’s most vulnerable reptiles, collated by the Zoological Society of London.

The Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered (EDGE) list “highlights and protects some of the most unique and most wonderful species on the planet,” according to its website.
