If you’re trying to get back at an ex-girlfriend, stealing $14,000 worth of hunting gear from her father’s not going to work out in your favor.

Via Morning Call:

PALMER TOWNSHIP — Palmer Township police said a man who wanted revenge against his ex-girlfriend stole more than $14,000 in hunting gear from her father Sunday.

Dennis Scot Cope III, 20, of the 300 block of South Whitfield Street in Nazareth is charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy. Cope was sent to Northampton County Prison under $10,000 bail.

Police said Cope stole nearly 500 items from a trailer parked at the home of Jeffrey Coban, who lives on Northview Avenue.

Cope told police he nearly emptied the trailer to “get payback” against Coban, the father of Cope’s ex-girlfriend, authorities say.

According to police:

Coban told police Sunday that when he returned from vacation, he discovered the trailer had been entered.

Coban is owner of Water Fowl Adventures and said the trailer contained duck and geese decoys and hunting supplies.

Coban’s neighbor, Sean Lambert, told police that on Saturday, he saw a man identified as Cope unloading items from the trailer into a truck.

Police said Cope admitted stealing the items and said he hid them at a home in Pen Argyl.
