Transparent Robotic Claw Made from Gel Can Catch Fish in a Flash

There are now robots that are made out of gel – in case you didn’t know. Named the Hydrogels, these gel based robots are nearly invisible and undetectable under water…until it’s too late that is.

Hydrogels were developed at MIT by a team of engineers and can take multiple shapes, like a claw to quickly catch and release live fish, or some weird whiplike structure that can kick around a ball underwater. They may even be used to help during surgeries one day. They are able to perform all of the se functions by having water pumped in and out of them.

That’s pretty incredible. Who knows, maybe fishermen will be utilizing these on a larger scale one day.
