The U.S. Coast Guard responded to a report at Monday morning about a fire at Dozier Marina off Virginia’s Rappahannock River. The Milford Station sent a 45-foot response boat-medium to the center on Urbanna Creek after learning of the incident at 5:20 a.m.
Two people who lived on boats in the marina were killed, while 50 boats were caught in the flames as the fire raged on, eventually being brought under control at 10 a.m.
The incident is currently under investigation under the Virginia State Police along with Coast Guard and Virginia Department of Emergency Management.
