A kayaker had an up close and personal encounter with a cottonmouth on the river that’d probably send most people paddling for their lives.
While the snake doesn’t swim right up to him, it does get pretty close before falling back and swimming after him for several seconds. We’re pretty sure we’d have a small panic attack if we were on the water and the only thing standing between us and a cottonmouth that had a little too much interest in us was a plastic paddle.
