These strange creatures might be called “water bears,” but tardigrades about as different as possible from any bear you’ve ever seen. They’re microscopic, but being tiny doesn’t mean they’re weak. They are capable of living in volcanoes and they can survive for up to 30 years without food. It’s also believed they could survive a meteor and they’re able to endure the vacuum of space — it’s a good thing these water bears aren’t as big as the fur-covered bears we’re used to!
