A stingray filmed in the Sea of Cortez, Mexico, was having as bad of a day as possible when National Geographic caught up with it while an Orca pod was toying with it.
Diver and filmmaker Jorge Cervera Hauser managed to catch the incredible moment an orca swiped a lone stingray with its tale so hard that it knocked it out cold.
Even though orcas do eat stingrays, these orcas that were circling the stingray had no intention of eating the stingray and let it sink to the ocean floor after they were tired of playing with it.
“It was the most amazing underwater experience I’ve had in my life,” said Hauser.
