It turns out you get some epically lazy bear lounging footage when you post trail cams by a bear den around the time it comes out of hibernation.
This guy posted trail cams near a black bear site in February 2016 to see what he’d capture. What he ended up getting was basically the month-long equivalent of “five more minutes.”
It’s incredibly interesting to see a firsthand perspective of the process a bear goes through after coming out of hibernation. While it does involve an overdose of lounging and scratching, it shows that hibernation doesn’t just end after the bear wakes up.
