If there’s one thing this story of thieves steeling 1.5 million dollars worth of antlers makes me realize, it’s that I need to get into the antler trade.
Via National Post:
CALEDON, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police are looking for suspects after $1.5 million worth of moose, elk and stag antlers were stolen from a taxidermy shop in Caledon, Ontario.
Police say thieves arrived at Advanced Taxidermy in Caledon at about 2 a.m. on Friday.
A black 2011 Ford DRW pickup truck was also stolen from the parking lot, along with two trailers, one of which was carrying two ATVs.
Police say a 2008 Carm CC black enclosed trailer had 69 sets of moose, elk and stag antlers, which are valued at $1.5 million.
They say the ATV trailer was abandoned about 10 kilometres south-east of the shop with the two ATVs missing.
Police say it is unclear how many people participated in the theft and no suspect descriptions were provided.
