Orlando David Delgado was charged with a hunting misdemeanor after he and two friends killed a bald eagle and orphaned its baby in a Harris County, Texas, neighborhood in February. The 17-year-old will be not be prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office since he is underage.
Residents are upset by the entire ordeal because the bird eagle had become a common sight around the neighborhood.
“It really hurts my stomach, it’s like a family member,” said Monette Villegas.
