Teach Me How To Selfie: Two Gorillas Pose With The Park Ranger Who Helped Rescue Them

A park ranger with Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo recently took what might be the best selfie we’ve ever seen with two female gorillas he helped rescue as babies.

Mathieu Shamavu, a worker at the park, can be seen posing with the two ladies, Ndakazi and Ndeze, who’re standing upright and giving their best Blue Steel for the camera.

The picture quickly went viral after Shamavu posted it and it isn’t hard to see why!

Also, it’s no surprise to see these girls on their two feet either—most primates are comfortable walking upright (bipedalism) for short bursts of time. It’s hard to believe those are both real gorillas that haven’t been edited in any way. But according to the park, these two girls are known for craving the spotlight.
