A nightmare of a shark was recently captured in a net by stunned fishermen near Owase Port in Mie Prefecture, Japan.
The incredibly rare megamouth shark looks like something out of a nightmare – definitely the last thing you see before it swallows you whole in one horrifying gulp.
Fortunately, you’re unlikely to ever see this shark. Since its discovery in the 1930.s, this shark has only been spotted around 60 times.
Maybe this’ll be new inspiration for the Sharknado franchise?
On an even more relieving note, this massive mouthed monster feeds on plankton, so the human race is safe once again.
Coming in at a whopping 5 meters (over 16 feet) long and weighing one ton, that’s very fortunate indeed.
