You’d think one of the largest cities in the USA wouldn’t be an ideal location for large predators, but you’d be wrong.
The Santa Susana Mountains, just north of Los Angeles are home to all sorts of large beasts – including a well known mountain lion and bear that were recently caught on trail cams as they were feasting on a deer.
The mountain lion in the footage is well known to the area, tagged as P-35, she comes across the kill and feeds on the remains shortly before a bear and cub stumble upon it and eat from the remains.
The camera that caught all the action was installed as part of an initiative to study and understand how the encroachment of urban areas affect large cats.
The photos were taken roughly 30 miles to the northwest of Los Angeles Zoo.
