Dog Stays Overnight With Lost Three-Year-Old Girl, Helps Rescuers Find Her And Proves He’s One Good Dog

Max isn’t your typical dog. Not only has the 17-year-old Blue Heeler lived an incredibly long life, he hasn’t let being deaf and partially blind stop him from being the best dog to have around when things get tough.

That’s why when a three-year-old girl in Queensland, Australia, went missing, Max was on the case. Rescuer searched for Aurora, the missing girl, with the help of volunteers but they were unable to find her that night

The next day, Aurora’s grandmother, Leisa Bennett, heard the girl’s voice in the distance.

When she got close, she found a little extra help in getting her to her missing granddaughter.

“I shot up the mountain,” Bennett said, “and when I got to the top, the dog came to me and led me straight to her.”

“The area around the house is quite mountainous and is very inhospitable terrain to go walking in,” Bennett’s partner Kelly Benston said, “so she’d travelled quite a distance with her dog that was quite loyal to her.”

Aurora was in good health despite it having been a rainy night and Max was made an honorary police dog for being such a good boy.
