A fisherman in Michigan’s Lake St. Clair received quite the shock when he caught a fish that had more in common with him than a love of water. After reeling in his catch, he found himself staring at a fish that had teeth just like him.
The fish, a South American pacu, is known for its rater alarming mouth full of pearly whites.
If you’ve never heard of the pacu, chances are you’ve had nightmares about something like it. Distantly related to the piranha, this fish comes equipped with human-like teeth that make it the perfect mix of disturbing and ridiculous looking.
Even more disturbing than the fish’s teeth, are the rumors that it – a vegetarian and feeds on plants, fruits and nuts – often mistakes a different type of nut for dinner. Yes…this monster supposedly feasts on human testicles.
Fortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any credible evidence to back up this claims that human males need to be extra careful in guarding their family jewels when in the water around these strange fish.
Disproved or not, I’m not too keen on jumping in any water with a resident that may take away my ability to bring in the next generation.
