Most hunts don’t end up putting the hunter in potential state record territory. But hunter Tim Watson finds himself in the running for a new Georgia state record after killing a whopping 673-pound black bear.
Wildlife Resources Division officials already confirmed it is the heaviest black bear ever taken in Georgia. It’s not hard to see why because this bear is absolutely massive!
Largest bear (678 Pounds) ever recorded in state of Georgia was killed last night in one of my friend's backyard in Mountain City! Her house is between mine and Mama and Daddy's.

Even though there aren’t many details for the hunt, Watson shot it near Mountain City in Rabun County.
