Biggest Largemouth Bass Ever is so Freakishly Big It Defies Reality

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of reeling in a fish and knowing you have something really special.

Such was the case for Manabu Kurita as he reeled in a monster bass weighing 22 pounds, 5 ounces while fishing in Japan – officially tying George Perry’s world-record bass at 22 pounds, 4 ounces.  Because Kurita’s bass did not beat the existing world record by at least 2 ounces it does not become a new world record, but is considered tying the record.

He caught the massive bass in Lake Biwa in Japan, and it measured 29 inches in length. It was caught on a live bluegill.

With an absolute hog like this, it’s no wonder Kurita is laughing all the way as he goes to weigh the fish.
