Speedboat Hits Buoy at 150MPH in Terrifying Footage

Hitting an object at 150 miles per hour in a boat doesn’t typically end well. That’s why Stuart Hayim and his crew are lucky to be alive after hitting a buoy while attempting to set a speed record.

Hayim started his attempt to clear skies before it turned into dense fog after nearly 30 minutes on the water. Luckily – despite the drastically reduced visibility – Hayim was able to steer the boat to avoid a direct impact, which would have split the boat in two, at the last instant.

What could have turned into a tragedy ended up only damaging the side of Hayim’s boat, the Recovery, allowing him to make his repairs and ride another day.
